“Health for all”

This year’s theme of the World Health Day (celebrating the anniversary of the founding of WHO on April 7, 1948) is “Health for all”.

Universal healthcare (i.e. healthcare that is accessible to everyone, regardless of means and income) is the goal that all governments should set themselves. Healthcare must, in any case, adequately treat everyone who needs it. And care must be provided by the best trained personnel, in facilities equipped in the best possible way, with appropriate and up-to-date instruments and materials.

When it comes to modern tools for healthcare, FH has several interesting solutions, but one is indispensable: the eWork trolley, our ‘nurse-friendly’ solution.

An eWork Cart based on PRESTO 600 large, with an NUC PC, mouse and keyboard in dedicated push-to-open drawer and screen on overbridge

Nurse-friendly in total mobility

Paper-based medical records, prescriptions, and treatment plans can lead to problems of interpretation (think of the difficulty in interpreting handwriting) and even patient mix-ups (a sheet of paper ending up in the wrong folder!). They can also result in omissions, medication mix-ups or incorrect dosages. This is very dangerous!

Digital management of patients, their medical records, prescriptions, examinations and administrations does not completely eliminate the possibility of error (we are all human anyway, and therefore prone to errors), but it does lay the foundations for control, verification and alarm systems. These systems greatly reduce the possibility of errors, while also maintaining a transaction history.

We don’t give them wings… but wheels!

If electronic medical record management is done in real time at the point of care (daily visit, temperature and other parameter control, medication and drug administration, etc.), the benefits are even greater. There is no need to carry information by heart or on a piece of paper from the patient’s bed to the fixed location with the computer… the trolley with the instruments and medications to dispense the service allows you to take the computer with you, and thus work in total mobility.

So, the computer (which indicates the therapy clearly and legibly, and also records the administration of the service) is brought along with the necessary medicines, dressings and instruments to the patient’s bedside (or whatever the point of administration is). And this can only be done if the computer is transportable… if it ‘has wheels’!

The trolleys in the eWork line do just that.
