The cardiology department at Bolzano Hospital has four storage rooms, three small and one large. Before Francehopital stepped in, they were tight on space, each organized according to its own habits.
The reorganization treated all four as one, with the same storage setup.

The constraint that shaped the choices
The four rooms do not all have the same needs. One in particular, the room right next to the operating room, looks onto it through a glass wall and houses the reporting office. Here, cleaning and disinfection happen more often and matter more than in the rest of the department, and furniture fixed to the floor is an obstacle.
Starting from here, we chose different systems for different spaces, while keeping a single internal organizing logic.
The systems installed
In the storage rooms, material that stays in place is held on Mosys shelving, assembled without tools. A Mosys cart connects the four rooms and makes it possible to move material from one storage room to another without having to repack anything.
In the room right next to the operating room, Preciso TRS was installed, here working as a storage system and not for transport. Three features make it suitable for a space close to the operating room:
- The wheels: staff can move the cabinet, clear under and behind it, and put it back. Cleaning does not have to work around an obstacle.
- The rolling shutter: the contents stay closed and protected from contaminants when the cabinet is not in use.
- The closed ISO bins for small items, which open shelving does not provide.
The result, across the four rooms, is a way of managing space that reconfigures itself when the department’s needs change, instead of being fixed once and for all.
From storage to the patient
Storage is one end of the chain, administration is the other. The department uses Preciso carts, fitted with a rolling shutter and side accessory rails. On these carts, supplies stop being stock and become treatment ready to take to the patient’s bed.
Having storage solutions and carts from the same manufacturer is not a supply detail. It means that the accessories, the internal dimensions and the organizing logic speak the same language, from the storage room all the way to the cart that enters the room.
What changes for the people working in the department
The department reports less day-to-day effort in locating and moving materials. The result that weighs most, though, is not in any single room: it is that all four share the same storage setup. Anyone walking into one storeroom finds the same logic as the other three.
